Local Law Enforcement Torch Run hits streets

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A very special procession got underway in our area Tuesday morning: the Rochester leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run took to the streets.

Members of local law enforcement made their way from north of Rochester Tuesday morning..

It's an annual tradition throughout Minnesota, all to show support for the special olympics.

This year, the flame of hope started in Moorhead and is passing through our area, Savage, Minneapolis and eventually to Stillwater for the ceremonial lighting of the torch at the 2013 Summer Games Celebration ceremonies.

One of several annual events, the funds raised help support more than 7,500 Special Olympics Minnesota athletes.
