One man faces charges after a fight this weekend that ended with three people, including a pregnant employee of the restaurant, in the hospital.
Cedar Rapids Police say Matthew Sanders, 29, of Cedar Rapids, faces willful injury, two counts of assault with a weapon and disorderly conduct.
Police say Charles Hanson, 53, and Hallie Hanson, 22, were out for supper at Outback Steakhouse when Sanders walked by their table and punched Charles in the face with a glove filled with shards of glass.
According to the police report, Hallie then tried to pull Charles away, and Sanders started to attack her.
He then began throwing chairs around the restaurant, with one chair hitting a pregnant employee, Christian Abner, 22, of Palo, in the stomach.
Abner was seven months pregnant and went into labor as a result, according to officials.
Sanders was arrested and taken to the Linn County Jail.
The three victims were taken to local hospitals. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
