MANTORVILLE, Minn. (KTTC) --- Tuesday President Abraham Lincoln and several union soldiers had dinner at an area restaurant.
The Civil War reenactors met at the Hubble House in Mantorville for a kickoff of Friends of Wasioja's Second Civil War Days taking place this weekend.
The menu was one typical of the Civil War Era -- they ate chicken and biscuits.
Tuesday's dinner and the events over the weekend are meant to provide an education experience representing the 1860's.
"We're trying to reteach some of that history that may have been forgotten or introduce residents to the local history of this area," said Tom Jensch of the Friends of Wasioja.
The events this weekend will include multiple battle reenactments as well as other living history demonstrations, a dance and a night cannon fire.
