Motorcycle and taxi cab collide near downtown Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A motorcyclist and taxi cab collided near downtown Rochester Monday afternoon.

Rochester police and Gold Cross ambulance were called to 6th Avenue Southwest and 1st Street Southwest just after 4:15 p.m. That's where a Rochester Yellow Cab taxi van and a Harley Davidson motorcycle collided near the intersection of an alley.

"Both vehicles were actually driving fairly slow," said Sgt. Jon Turk of the Rochester Police Department.  "And there was a vehicle parked alongside the road here that did obstruct the vision of the motorcycle as it entered the roadway."

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Saint Marys Hospital with a leg injury.

No one else was hurt.
