More storms in the forecast for Thursday afternoon and evening

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Warm, humid air lingers today ahead of a large storm system to our west, priming the atmosphere for more rain and thunderstorms in our area this afternoon and evening.

A tornado watch is in effect until 7pm for Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha and Winona counties in Minnesota; Allamakee and Winneshiek counties in Iowa; plus Buffalo, La Crosse and Trempealeau counties in Wisconsin.

We've already had a couple of rounds of strong activity in the local area in the past day and, once again, it looks like we're under the gun for more storm activity, some that may include hail and damaging winds gusts as well as heavy rainfall.

Expect a breezy, warm, and humid afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 70s. The storm system will edge eastward tomorrow, keeping the threat of scattered thundershowers in the area, but the heavy rain threat and severe weather risk will be much lower.

Light showers and occasional sunshine is expected for Saturday with dry sunshine on Sunday while temperatures fall off into the 60s for highs.

The KTTC Precision Weather team is tracking any storms, and will keep you informed of any severe activity.
