ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Perhaps it's sheer coincidence, but the morning after the deal was made to fund Destination Medical Center, MnDOT launched planning meetings for a study of a ZIP Rail line between Rochester and the Twin Cities.
This would help move people to Mayo Clinic.
ZIP Rail service might be like the high speed trains you find in Europe.
MnDOT will hold the first of three "open house" meetings on a future ZIP Rail line on June 3rd at the Heintz Center at RCTC.
Other public meetings will be at Cannon Falls and Bloomington as MnDOT plans an exact route.
