PLAINVIEW, Minn. (KTTC) -- Multiple fire crews responded to blazes just outside Plainview and in Rochester on Sunday.
The call came in at about 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Crews from Plainview and Elgin responded, and found a shed behind a home on 200th Ave. was fully engulfed.
We're told it started when the owner was doing some welding work inside. He made it out safely, but the shed is a total loss. It was used to store farm equipment. Authorities had the fire was contained in about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, a neighbor helped get 2 people out of a house as it went up in flames in Rochester.
According to the Rochester Fire Department, the fire happened Sunday on the 1100 block 10th Ave NW. Firefighters extinguished a small fire near the front door and ventilated the house. Three dogs were inside but firefighters were able to remove them.
The cause is still under investigation, and caused more than $17,000 dollars in damage.
