BYRON, Minn. (KTTC) -- Byron students are rolling up their sleeves... to help clean up their community.
Roughly 500 students in 9th through 12th grade spent their Wednesday morning raking leaves, picking up trash, and cleaning windows at churches, parks and roadways in and around Byron.
The students went to some houses in town to help elderly people with things like changing light bulbs and scraping decks.
And these teens certainly weren't complaining about getting out of the classroom on this beautiful day.
This is the first year Byron High School has put on the city-wide community service project-- and it's looking like it won't be the last.
