KENYON, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Kenyon man was sentenced Wednesday to more than 13 years in prison for conspiracy to commit murder.
Jesse Helgeson, 27, admitted to a plot to hire a person to kill his victim.
Investigators say Helgeson texted an acquaintance and asked him to get rid of a man he assaulted in Austin two years ago.
The acquaintance went to police.
Detectives say they recorded several conversations with Helgeson in which he said he wanted the man killed. A complaint says Helgeson also gave an undercover officer a map of the man's locations.
