ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The historic May snowstorm may have passed-- but power outages still remain throughout parts of southeastern Minnesota blanketed under over a foot of new snow.
Utility officials are still reporting significant power issues in parts of Rochester, and scattered throughout Freeborn County.
Power crews worked through the night to restore power throughout the area. As of 12 p.m., RPU reported that 120 customers were still without power in Rochester. That figure was down from the nearly 10,000 customers who were without power at the height of Thursday's snowstorm.
People's Cooperative Services said sporadic power outages were also still being reported near Chester, and other areas. At one time, 600 customers were affected.
In Freeborn County, crews were still dealing with power outages affecting around 380 customers in and around Albert Lea. Crews were busy clearing branches loaded with wet, heavy snow that had fallen onto power lines.
