ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Flights and appointments canceled, traffic delays, taxis and rental cars getting stuck in the snow-- the list goes on for the problems Mayo Clinic patients are facing, brought on by a very late and unexpected snowfall Thursday.
A woman from Cleveland was receiving cancer treatment at Mayo. She and her sister were enjoying 90-degree weather back in Ohio before traveling to Mayo.
Minnesota is known for cold weather, but they didn't expect this.
And a soldier from San Diego, receiving care on a hand injury he sustained in Afghanistan.. was leaving the hospital wearing a T-shirt, and laughed it off.
All in all, these folks say, they're just surprised to see so much snow-- during a typically warm time of year in Minnesota.
Oh-- and they're hoping to eventually get home, too.
