Former Hawkeye great Nate Kaeding is retiring after nine seasons in the National Football League.
Kaeding who just signed a one year deal with Tampa Bay last month says a nagging groin injury he suffered last season will not allow him to perform with the durability and consistency necessary to compete in the NFL. Kaeding leaves the game as the second most accurate kicker in NFL history most of it spent with the San Diego Chargers.
