Veteran's family home is repaired by volunteers

Posted:

KASSON, Minn. (KTTC) -- Our nations servicemen and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedom and there are few ways to thank them to the extent they deserve.

But a group called Soldiers' Angels Operation Veteran Outreach tries to step in when a soldier is in need.

Kasson resident and veteran David Johnson lives in a home with his family that needed a new roof. That's when several companies stepped up to get the work done when the Johnsons just couldn't find the money for it in their budget.

About a dozen volunteers were hard at work in the sunshine Saturday.

Crews were able to finish the work in one day. The flag in the front yard was also a donation for the family.
