PLAINVIEW, Minn. (KTTC) -- Students were scared straight this week at a mock drunk driving car crash.
The Plainview-Elgin-Millville High School student council, local EMS crews and Mayo One conducted the mock crash Wednesday.
And then Thursday, a mock memorial service was held in the gym for the five pretend victims who 'died.'
Local pastor Kevin Kastler directed the mock funeral, where he honored the deceased students.
Real-life drunk driving accident victim Shaynee Vaith then shared with students her experiences of almost dying after a drunk driver hit her in a head-on collision.
Faculty and staff say they hope this event will help students remember to never drink and drive and never let someone else who has been drinking get behind the wheel.
