Man hit by train in Freeborn County

Near ALBERT LEA, Minn. (KTTC) -- A man was killed when he was hit by a train near Albert Lea.

The Freeborn County sheriffs office tells us it happened just after midnight early Tuesday morning, near Highway 65 just south of Albert Lea.

The 50 year old man was sitting on the tracks when he was struck by the southbound train.

Authorities have ruled it a suicide.
