WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- An area Red Cross volunteer is heading to Illinois to help with flood relief efforts.
Andrea Swanson of Frontenac left for Moline on Sunday. She'll provide crisis intervention, mental health screening and assessment, and emotional care and support to victims of the flooding in the Quad Cities.
Moline isn't the only area in Illinois feeling the effects of flooding. The Des Plaines River near Chicago overflowed its banks and damaged more than 800 homes - with estimates in the millions of dollars.
