NEAR DOVER, Minn. (KTTC)-- Two people have died as the result of a two-vehicle crash near Dover over the weekend.
The accident took place at the intersection of Olmsted County Road 9 and County Road 10 shortly after 1:00 PM Saturday. The cars both ended up in a field deep in the mud.
There were two people in each car and all four of them received immediate medical treatment once they were removed from their vehicles. Mayo 1 and Mayo 2 were on the scene as well.
Authorities now tell KTTC NewsCenter that both Steven Orris, 32, of St. Charles, and his passeneger, Mina Haslerud, 37, also of St. Charles, have both died from injuries sustained in the crash.
No word on an official cause of the accident, but officials see it as a reminder to always be paying attention on the roadways.
"People need to be more aware of watching their surroundings and driving defensively, so that we don't have to come out to a crash like this," explains Sergeant Steve Kazeck with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Department. "They are tough to deal with, and we don't want to anybody to get hurt or certainly killed, but it's an inherent danger."
