LEWISTON, Minn. (KTTC) -- The local fight against cancer takes to the streets on Sunday. This weekend, thousands will walk and run-- all to raise money for cancer research, during the 35th Annual Fools Five Road Race in Lewiston.
The race gets underway at 1 p.m. Sunday. You can register now, or on the day of the race as well.
Participants of the five mile race are encouraged to raise pledges. Last year, more than 3,000 people took part and raising about $80,000 dollars.
Money raised from the Fools Five goes to the KTTC Eagles Cancer Telethon and the local fight against cancer, helping fund research at Mayo Clinic, University of Minnesota Cancer Institute, and the Hormel Institute.
The events kick off Friday with silent and live auctions.
And, if you are between the ages of 18 and 44, you can take part in the Be the Match Marrow Donor Registry on race day-- it only takes about 15 minutes and a few swabs of your mouth.
