Twins try to even series with Tigers

Posted:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) --  Minnesota Twins rookie Aaron Hicks says he'll remember his first opening day forever, despite striking out three times.

Detroit ace Justin Verlander struck out Hicks in his first three at-bats on Monday. Hicks also got to meet his all-time favorite player, Torii Hunter, before the game. Hunter now plays right field for the Tigers.

The Twins are back in action Wednesday afternoon, trying to even the series with the Tigers at Target Field. The first pitch is slated for 3:10 p.m.
