House fire in NE Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Fire broke out at a home in northeast Rochester late Thursday night.

Fire crews responded to the blaze just after 10 p.m.

The fire was contained to the attic of the house, however the main level suffered heavy smoke and water damage.

The blaze is still under investigation, but the Rochester fire department believes it may have started near a wood-burning stove.

Damages are estimated to exceed $150,000 dollars.

The homeowners say they're staying with friends.
