BYRON, Minn. (KTTC) -- Temperatures were on the fringe of freezing... but that didn't stop a Sunday crowd from hitting the driving range in Byron.
It was evident today that golfers are really starting to get the itch for the new season.
The manager has seen an uptick of clients in recent weeks and says it's nothing like last year. "The last couple weeks have been busier and busier. I'm running out of balls," said Charlie Kraemer. "Last year we had everyone playing at their own golf courses. This year we still have everyone's members out here hitting balls."
By this date last year, Colton Thiemann had some rounds already under his belt... but now he's taking what he can get. "I try to get out maybe once or twice a week just to kind of work on my game a little bit."
He explained it was nice to be able to actually hit outdoors rather than a simulator. "Sometimes I don't believe the simulator is 100-percent correct. But it still gives you a good thought of what it is."
But still he admits, some of the cob webs were thicker than he anticipated... at least on this day. "Not good," he said jokingly. "Sorry if I hit somebody's car today."
