Austin residents not home when house fire starts

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -- A fire broke out in an Austin Home Friday night while the residents were away over the weekend.

Firefighters responded to 508 Fourth Avenue NW.

A passerby reported the fire after 10:00 p.m.

The family was not at home.

The fire was contained to the room of origin on the main floor of the two-story house, but there was smoke damage throughout, according to the fire department.

A cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation.
