STEWARTVILLE, Minn. (KTTC) -- A snowmobiler was injured Wednesday afternoon in Stewartville, after flying off the back of his machine.

According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's office, the incident happened on Wednesday just before 4 p.m. at Bear Cave Park in Stewartville.

Two people were riding a snowmobile when they attempted to go off a drift.

Instead of a smooth ride, there was a 6 to 7 foot drop and the passenger flew off the back.

Authorities say the passenger suffered a broken left femur and was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester by Gold Cross ambulance.
