UPDATE: Victims named in fatal crash on I-90

Near GRAND MEADOW, Minn. (KTTC) - The Minnesota State Patrol has released the names of the victims in that fatal rollover Wednesday night on I-90 near Grand Meadow.

Jared Burnell, 22, of Pittsfield, MA., was killed in the crash.

Burnell was traveling east on I-90 when his car entered the median, rolled and came to rest in the westbound lanes of I-90 where it was struck by another car driven by Mathias Weinmann, 18, of Austin. He sustained minor injuries in the crash.

A passenger in Weinmann's car, Heather Knutson, 18, of Austin, also sustained minor injuries.

The State Patrol says the pavement was wet at the time of the crash.

The Mower County Sheriff's office assisted the State Patrol at the scene. Grand Meadow Ambulance and Fire, and Gold Cross Ambulance responding as well, along with Mayo One air care.

The westbound lanes of I-90 were closed for several hours early Thursday as authorities worked to reconstruct the crash.
