ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) - Police say no charges will be filed following an early Monday morning fight in southeast Rochester.

Police have released Adam Smith, 32, from jail and will not be charging him in the incident.

The event happened around 3:30am Monday on the 1000 block of 4th Ave southeast. When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old victim with an inch-and-a-half deep laceration to his face.

Smith had been facing second degree assault charges after pulling a knife during the fight the victim.

But police say that was in self-defense.
