UPDATE: Foul play not suspected in student death

WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- Foul play is not suspected in the death of a Winona State University student found dead in his dorm room.

Mitchell Grierson, 19, was found dead by his roommate early Sunday morning in Morey Hall.

Grierson was dead when authorities arrived.

Grierson was from Dassel, Minn., which is west of the Twin Cities.

Funeral arrangements are pending and counseling is available to students and community members.

Grierson was studying mass communication, according to university spokeswoman Andrea Mikkelsen. Grierson enrolled at Winona State last fall as a freshman.
