The IOC recommendation to cut the sport of wrestling from the 2020 Olympic games caught everyone in the wrestling community by surprise, including the legendary wrestler and coach Dan Gable.
Gable, who has devoted his entire life to building the sport he loves--- vows to organize forces to keep its flame burning in the Olympic movement by any means necessary. Gable spoke publicly about the decision in Des Moines Tuesday. The former wrestling and coaching great believes the leaders of the sport must try to reverse the decision and then remain diligent about making sure the sport of wrestling remains high on the priority list.
