2 arrested in Mason City scrap metal theft

MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) -- Two Mason City men are in jail after police caught them stealing scrap metal.

Mario Martinez and Tommy Askildson were arrested Sunday night when police spotted them loading a wagon on the property of Miller's Transmission.

Martinez and Askildson are accused of stealing more than 500 pounds of scrap aluminum.

Both are facing charges of criminal trespass and theft.
