MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) - An overnight assault and robbery in Mason City has landed a man behind bars.

Police were called to an assault on North Federal Avenue around 3 this morning.

A man had been assaulted and his wallet and cell phone stolen.

A suspect, 42-year-old Aaron Ryerson, was stopped just minutes later..

Police say the stolen wallet and cell phone were found on him.

Ryerson is facing charges of 2nd Degree Robbery and Public Intoxication.
