ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The city of Rochester has partnered with Rochester's Convention and Visitor's Bureau to install four interactive touch screen kiosks in the skyway and subway system.
The touch screens provide visitors with information of Rochester events, restaurants, hotels, shopping, parking and transportation. Four Winds Interactive, a digital signage company based out of Denver, will be installing the kiosks this week. More kiosks are scheduled to be installed on the Mayo Clinic campus in the near future.
"If I couldn't find somebody and I needed help I think that would be a good resource," said Meredith Howard of Tulsa. "I also have my iPhone, but this is much larger, more immediate area in more detail."
The Rochester Convention and Visitor's Bureau estimates each touch screen will cost between $18,000 and $20,000. The kiosks are located on the Skyway level of the Shops at University Square, US Bank Building and the skyway entrance of the DoubleTree Hotel. There is also a kiosk on the subway level near the Marriott Hotel.
