Icy crash causes power outage

Posted:

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The icy roads Monday led to one person being taken to the hospital and a section of northwest Rochester without power.

A vehicle was traveling down 40th Street N.W. at about 9:40 a.m. when the driver of the vehicle encountered a Rochester Public Works plow in the intersection.

In order to avoid the plow, the driver swerved and hit a power pole, shearing it off at ground level.

Icy roads are believed to have played a role in the crash.
