At Pro Bowl, Peterson doesn't plan to let up

Posted:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Pro Bowl has become so diluted by player withdrawals and minimal effort that the NFL considered pulling the plug on it.

Everyone enjoys the free trip to Hawaii, but motivation to play hard so soon after the physically taxing season is often missing. Some of the Minnesota Vikings, however, offer a perspective that goes against the perception of the annual all-star game as a meaningless exhibition.

Adrian Peterson said recently he won't let up, arguing it's easier to get hurt at half speed. The league's rushing leader also noted the $50,000 bonus for members of the winning team, $25,000 more than the losers get.

Then there's rookie kicker Blair Walsh, who was so happy about the honor he paid for long snapper Cullen Loeffler to come, too.
