Mower county residents upset at fee

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) - Some Mower County homeowners are not happy about a surprise fee from a project completed more than a year ago.

Lansing residents are being hit with the fee that helps pay for Austin's old sewer project.

During the project, the city assessed about 200 properties and the council approved the assessments at $15,000 per parcel.

Four property owners appeared in Mower County Court to object to the rate. Many more residents are expected to appear in court at a later date.

Austin city officials weren't available for comment.
