ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A water pipe burst at a Rochester apartment sent two families out into the cold.

It happened in the 100 block of 9th Street N.E. just after 9 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters responded to a report of a burst water pipe, causing damage to the apartment building and residents' property.

The water supply was shut off but not before about $10,000 in damage was done.

The Red Cross will help provide shelter for two families until the apartments are properly cleaned.
