ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A local manufacturing plant will soon be laying off workers. Crenlo officials said it is a result of tough conditions in the market.
We received information about this potential move all week. On Friday, we confirmed that Crenlo has instituted layoffs.
In a statement released to KTTC, company president Dave Kilburn said that "Crenlo has announced the layoff of 17 hourly employees as a response to softened market conditions."
No announcement is being made on when the layoffs will take place.
It is unknown what the meaning is to the softening market conditions, whether it is relating to the construction cab enclosure or the metal cabinet side of the business.
Crenlo has been in business for 60 years in Rochester. The company works in cooperation with global companies like John Deere and Caterpillar.
