ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The YMCA has started the first dodgeball league in Rochester.
Participants took part in a competition Thursday night.
The Rochester YMCA recently started the league and hopes to attract more people to the sport.
Dodgeball involves throwing a ball at your opponent. If you're hit, you have to step out of the game until another player on your team catches a ball.
"It's a sport that - you play it as a kid, but yet, adults love it just the same," said Eric Pearson, YMCA Youth and Family Program Director. "I mean, we play it with our after school program and we play it as adults and it seems to never really seems to get old no matter what age you are."
The teams play every Thursday. While all the teams are full, the YMCA is looking to form new teams in March.
