ST. PAUL, Minn. (KTTC) -- Charges of second degree murder were filed Wednesday against a St. Paul man in connection to the death of a woman originally from Dodge Center.
Steven Johnson, 34, is scheduled to appear in Ramsey County Court Wednesday afternoon.
Manya Johnson, 32, graduated from Triton High School in 1998. She was an employee of Target Corporation in the Twin Cities and had previously worked for Mayo Clinic.
Manya was living with her husband Steven and their 17-month-old son near Como Park in St. Paul when she was murdered Jan. 6.
The criminal complaint says Johnson used a saw to dismember her body in the shower and put her in several plastic bins. The complaint says he cleaned his home and took the bins to a friend's garage. He later told the friend what he did.
A missing person's report was filed on Monday.
Steven Johnson had served a 12 year prison sentence for a rape in Coon Rapids in 1996.
