Driver dies after crashing into Minn. school

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) - The driver has died after a vehicle crashed into St. Katharine Drexel School in St. Cloud.

Firefighters and paramedics tried to save the driver's life at the scene after the vehicle crashed into the school Friday, but the driver was later pronounced dead at St. Cloud Hospital.

The St. Cloud Times (http://on.sctimes.com/Z5re55 ) reports investigators believe the driver had a medical problem before the crash. The cause of death is unknown.

The driver's name is being withheld until relatives are notified. The driver, who was alone in the car, was unconscious when St. Cloud police arrived around 2:40 p.m.

The school on St. Cloud's East Side sustained extensive damage, but no one inside the school was injured.
