Cedar Rapids police say one person was sent to the hospital after a shooting in Cedar Rapids Thursday night.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of 4th Ave. SE at around 10:14 p.m. Thursday.
Sergeant Cristy Hamblin says 35-year-old Joshua Spears was found with a gunshot wound to the left arm. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals Clinics. Hamblin says his injuries are not life threatening.
Hamblin says that during their investigation, officers determined that three men entered Spears' apartment through an unlocked door and exchanged words with Spears. They say one of the men then shot Spears and all three ran from the scene.
