Posted:

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Twin Cities' two major orchestras meet with their locked-out musicians this week in an attempt to end lingering labor disputes.

The management of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and the musicians union have agreed to meet with a federal mediator Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra have accepted an invitation to meet with management this week.

The Minnesota Orchestra musicians were locked Oct. 1 after their contract expired. The Minnesota Orchestra has canceled or rescheduled concerts through Feb. 10.

SPCO musicians were locked out Oct. 21 after declining to approve a contract proposal. The SPCO has canceled concerts through Feb. 8.
