LEWISTON, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Lewiston family is now without a home after a fire destroyed it Friday morning.
It happened on County Road 25 around 11:30 a.m. No one was home at the time except two dogs, but they survived. Investigators believe a wood stove caused the blaze.
The homeowner, Ted Hess, is the Assistant Chief of the Lewiston Fire Department.
If you would like to help the family, an account is being set up at Security State Bank in Lewiston. The account is called Hess House Fire Fund.
We're told the family well-known and loved in the community and they will start out staying with friends.
