Extra patrols on New Year's Eve

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Minnesota officials are trying to make this the 5th straight new year's holiday with no traffic deaths.

The Department of Public Safety is reminding anyone enjoying New Year's Eve festivities to find a safe ride home.

Extra patrols will be on roads across the state.

Over the last 10 years, there have been eight drunk driving related deaths during the new year's holiday but none over the last 4 years
