Kenneth Adams
MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) -- A 29-year-old Mason City man faces a felony charge of child endangerment that resulted in the death of a child.
Kenneth Adams was charged on Thursday.
Officers were sent to a Mason City home on Oct. 27 to check on an unresponsive child. Police say the infant was taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, where he died. The State Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide.
Police have not released the child's name, but the Mason City Globe Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/12KQwdm ) that a newspaper obituary said 7-month-old Owen James Adams died Oct. 27 at Mercy. His father was listed as Kenneth Adams, of Mason City.
A Cerro County jailer said Adams remained in custody on Friday, pending $25,000 bail. Online court records don't list the name of Adams' attorney.
