ST. ANSGAR, Iowa (KTTC) -- Minnis Woodworking will be moving to St. Ansgar Industrial Park after a fire destroyed the business last month. The Speculative Building is 20,000 square feet and was completed just days before Minnis Woodworking went up in flames.
After the fire destroyed the business two local banks and the City of St. Ansgar worked to assist the owners to purchase the building. Kelly Minnis started his custom cabinet business in 2004.
"That's what makes a small community work," Minnis said. "Everybody pulls together -- if we didn't have all the support it's just not possible."
The project is expected to begin after the new year and will be bringing many construction jobs to the area. According to the owner, the business hopes to be up and running again by the summer and plans to expand operations with the purchase of this building.
