RED WING, Minn. (KTTC) -- Red Wing police are investigating a threat to the Red Wing School District.
Police received a report from a high school senior just before 3 p.m. Tuesday that someone called her home phone number saying "your school is next" and hung up.
On Wednesday at about 8:30 a.m., First Student Bus Company told police that a student found some .22LR rounds on a bus. The school district issued an "external lockdown," which means external access is monitored and controlled.
Police said a student came forward and reported the .22LR rounds were his and they were forgotten in his jacket after coyote hunting. Police said the bus incident is unrelated to the threat.
Red Wing police will release more information as it becomes available.
