Mason City man gets life in prison in federal child sex case

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KTTC) -- A Mason City man has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing two boys.

Michael Goodale, 31, of Mason City, was sentenced on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids.

Goodale was convicted on July 5 of aggravated sexual abuse, interstate transportation of minors to have sex, and viewing child pornography.

Prosecutors said Goodale performed sex acts with the boys in Iowa and Minnesota.

Goodale was also found guilty of viewing child pornography.
