Boy, 2, fatally shot by another child in Mpls.


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minneapolis police say a boy playing with a gun apparently shot and killed a 2-year-old boy.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in Minneapolis' Riverside neighborhood about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived they found the 2-year-old with a critical gunshot wound. He was loaded into an ambulance but died at the scene.

Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. Stephen McCarty tells KARE-TV ( ) the child apparently was shot by another boy under the age of 5 who was playing with a gun. It's unclear where the gun came from, how the boy got his hands on it, and whether any adults were home at the time.
