DNR: SW Iowa hunter shot by another hunter

A 58-year-old man from Red Oak was shot by another member of his hunting party Sunday morning near Indianola.  The Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources says Miles Sagen was hit in the shoulder/upper chest area by a deer slug fired at a running deer by someone else in his 9-member hunting party Sunday morning around 8:30 a.m.   DNR officials say dense fog caused visibility to be less than 100 yards, even if the person was wearing blaze orange.  The slug traveled approximately 144 yards before striking Sagen, according to the DNR.  Sagen was taken to a Des Moines hospital where his condition has not been released.
