Cedar Rapids Police say a man was injured after his truck was hit by a train. It happened just after 5 p.m. in the 3600 block of J St. SW. Police say 32-year-old Travis Tucker failed to stop for the railroad signal, drove around the signal barricade, and stopped on the tracks. Police say it was later determined to be an intentional act. Police say is truck was sheared nearly in half by a Union Pacific train. He was taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital. Tucker faces charges of failing to properly stop for railroad signal, driving while barred and proof of insurance-accident related.
