AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC)-- Five APS administrators grew mustaches throughout the month and received donations from family, friends and school staff for sporting the look.
The administrators from Austin's Public Schools participated in the "Movember Movement" to raise money for the Hormel Institute. On Wednesday, the administrators met with The Hormel Institute to present a check for $1,050.
"Immediately we had some responses from people who obviously could grow facial hair that said that they would do so," said John Alberts, Director of Educational Services with APS. "It was a quick and positive response."
The "Movember" initiative aims to promote awareness and funding for research of prostate and testicular cancer.
